Transfer window: Sancho keen on Dortmund return, Ipswich loan Sarmiento – live | Transfer window

Key events

Could Ivan Perisic leave Tottenham return to Croatia and Hadjuk Split? He will likely miss the rest of the season after cruciate knee surgery, but quotes from the Croatian press suggest he is returning home.

Hajduk Split sporting director Mindaugas Nikoličius is quoted as follows: “Ivan is injured, it’s too early. We have to see when he recovers, when he can run and play.

“The transfer window here lasts until mid-February and that is an advantage for us. There is a dialogue with Tottenham and we will make the best decision for everyone.

Perisic, 34, has a return date set for April.

Athletic suggests Thilo Kehrer leaves West Ham, initially on loan, to join Monaco.

West Ham United’s Thilo Kehrer is set to join Monaco in an initial loan deal.

Talks are progressing over a move that would see Kehrer head to Ligue 1 until the end of the season – Monaco have the option to sign him permanently this summer. #WHUFC

Some suggestions this morning that Newcastle have gone a little cold with Kalvin Phillips. The fact that the Newcastle team has gone cold could be part of it. Developments within the club could get interesting if they lose in the FA Cup against Sunderland. Not much speculation on Eddie Howe at the moment. But FFP means Newcastle can’t buy themselves into trouble like they did two years ago this month.

🚨 Newcastle are determined not to be too reactive about their injury problems and stick to a long-term plan in the transfer market, meaning a move for Kalvin Phillips could be in doubt.

Fulham and Crystal Palace also have a stake in the former Leeds man.

Latest Spurs: This deal seems likely. Lyon’s Jean-Clair Todibo appears to be a longer-term target, who a few other clubs will probably want to get involved with.

⚪️🇷🇴 Tottenham and Genoa have already planned a new round of negotiations to move forward on the Radu Dragusin deal.

Spurs’ initial verbal offer is around €23 million while Genoa’s asking price is €30 million. Contacts will continue soon.

Postecoglou still convinced: he wants Dragusin. pic.twitter.com/MwZffGLc4C

Deal concluded: Ipswich have signed Ecuadorian winger Jeremy Sarmiento on loan from Brighton.

He was previously on loan at West Brom, but was redirected to the second-placed team in the Championship.

According to the official website of his new club:

“The full Ecuador international, who represented his country at the 2022 World Cup, will join his Town teammates later this week and wear the number 21 shirt during his time at the Club.

“I’m very pleased to be joining Ipswich at a time when they are on a great run since winning promotion to the Championship,” Jeremy said.

“Ipswich have always been there, after a summer that didn’t really work out, but I’m here now and I’m ready to do my best.”

welcome to #itfc, @jeremysarm7ento!

Tuesday’s transfer stories here.

Preamble

Welcome aboard. The window remains wide open and deals are starting – albeit slowly – to come to fruition. The big talk so far is about Jadon Sancho’s return to Dortmund, one of those decisions that seems too wise. Same goes for Ivan Toney at Arsenal, unless you’re a Brentford type. In that case, £100 million, please. That’s about the size of the market right now, with FFP slamming a few iron clubs. However, as they say, you never know what could happen during the transfer window. (Okay, it is, but things happen, and someone always goes a little crazy at some point.)

Join us for the latest news. We are here all week. And then too.
